Talk to a Navigator
What is MedRelay?

MedRelay is an international patient navigation and treatment-access coordination service in China. We organize records, coordinate specialist review, clarify practical requirements, and support the journey around hospital care.

What are your two service lines?

Advanced Care focuses on complex conditions and highly specialized pathways. Value Care focuses on high-quality planned treatment where total cost, timing, and continuity are important parts of the decision.

Why are you based in Shanghai?

Shanghai offers academic hospitals, specialist services, and international-care resources within one city. Our local coordination helps you navigate the relevant campus, department, documents, and practical arrangements.

What does MedRelay 24/1 mean?

We aim to start your case within 24 hours after receiving readable core medical records and valid contact details, with one dedicated navigator. Starting the case means organizing the coordination work, not issuing a medical opinion.

Does the hospital also reply within 24 hours?

Hospital review timing depends on its own process and the information needed. Your navigator explains the expected next step and keeps track of the communication.

Will the same person support me?

You have one primary navigator. A colleague may provide cover when needed, with your case information handed over so you do not have to start again.

Are you a hospital?

No. MedRelay coordinates navigation and support. Clinical assessment, recommendations, and treatment are provided by licensed medical institutions and their clinicians.

Can you work with a hospital I have already chosen?

Tell us which hospital you have in mind. We will clarify whether we can support the required communication and arrangements, or explain another practical route.

Do all hospitals listed on your website partner with MedRelay?

The directory introduces Shanghai’s medical resources. A formal partnership, where identified, is different from coordinating an individual enquiry. Your proposed provider and service arrangement are confirmed before you proceed.

How is MedRelay connected to East China Talent Education Group?

MedRelay is the international medical services brand of East China Talent Education Group (ECTE), a Shanghai-based organisation founded in 2010. ECTE directly provides patient navigation and coordination through MedRelay. Its experience in professional education, research and mental health training shapes our approach to communication. Hospitals and treating clinicians make medical decisions.

Can I contact you before I have all the reports?

Yes. Start with a brief overview. Your navigator helps identify the existing records needed for the next review, rather than asking you to collect documents blindly.

Can I enquire on behalf of a family member?

Yes. We confirm the patient’s permission or representative arrangements before records are shared. You can help organize information and join coordination conversations where the patient agrees.

Can a second opinion be arranged before travel?

We coordinate the review formats available from the relevant hospital. The team may need additional records or an in-person examination before it can give a complete opinion.

Will treatment in China necessarily cost less?

Not in every case. Compare the full scope of care, travel, accommodation, companion needs, repeat visits, and follow-up. We help organize the available information so you can make a case-specific comparison.

Who receives the payments?

Where hospital policy allows, medical fees go directly to the hospital. MedRelay’s service fees and third-party support charges are separately identified, with the payment arrangements explained before commitment.

Can I use my insurance?

Cover and payment routes depend on your policy and the provider. We help organize the necessary questions and documents, but your insurer should confirm planned overseas cover in writing.

How long will I need to stay?

That depends on assessment, treatment stages, recovery, and follow-up. Your navigator helps obtain the available timing information from the hospital and plan for the practical implications.

What happens if the hospital recommends against traveling?

We help organize the feedback and explain the next administrative steps. You can take the medical opinion back to your current team and consider the alternatives they recommend.

What support is available for family members?

We can discuss accommodation, transport, interpretation, practical coordination, and options for additional emotional or caregiver support. Availability and any fees are confirmed in advance.

What happens when I return home?

We help organize the agreed discharge and handoff information. Follow-up and clinical advice remain with the responsible medical teams; further communication can be coordinated where arranged.
