Professional roots in Shanghai.
Personal support across borders.
MedRelay helps international patients navigate care in China—from the first questions and medical records to specialist review, treatment-access coordination, and the practical arrangements around a stay in Shanghai.
The people and experience behind MedRelay
When you are exploring care in another country, you need more than a list of hospitals. You need someone local who can help organise the facts, ask the right questions and keep you and your family informed.
MedRelay is a Shanghai-based international patient navigation service operated by East China Talent Education Group (ECTE). Established in 2010, ECTE works across professional education, mental health training, educational research and public service projects. Its wider organisation includes the East China Institute of Talent Science, training institutions and practice settings for counselling education. The Group also brings together educators and professionals across medicine and mental health.
This background shapes how we work. Your navigator helps organise medical records, identify relevant specialties and hospitals, coordinate requests for clinical review, and explain the practical steps involved in coming to China. We aim to make the process understandable for both patients and families, from the first question to the handover after treatment.
Medical opinions and treatment plans come from the hospital and licensed clinicians caring for you. MedRelay stays beside you to help make the pathway clear.

A difficult medical decision can bring unfamiliar words, practical pressure, and emotional strain. Our background shapes how we explain processes, support companions, prepare useful questions, and help people feel less alone while the clinical team handles their care.
Three roles, one coordinated journey
Your navigator keeps the case organized and follows the next steps.
The treating clinical team provides medical assessment, recommendations, and care.
Family-support professionals can provide additional support according to the agreed service and availability.
Meet the people responsible for your service
When your case opens, we introduce your primary navigator and explain how to reach them. Before a paid medical review is confirmed, you receive the proposed hospital or review provider, the service format, and relevant fees.
A person beside you at every step.
